Looking for ideas how to make socket holders not slide around

So right now I am using a super thin 2 sided tape and it works perfect.

But I am planning to purchase a mobile tech cart/chest and there is going to be times I need to lift the full rack of say 3/8" sockets from main box into mobile cart. I was thinking perhaps finding a good brand of magnet sheets and glueing them onto the socket racks.

Magnets sound like a great idea untill they are constantly covered in drill shavings, grinder dust, ball bearings, razor blades, random bolts/nuts etc. ......Everything that is always stuck to anything magnetic in my shop anyway. (Magnetic parts trays and welding triangles mainly)

I own a metal fab shop, I know what you mean. It seems like every magnet in the shop has a beard at one time or another. My socket trays have the magnetic bottoms. Because they are either in the box or on the vehicle most of the time it is not too bad. If they get loaded up from being on the fab table I just blow them off before putting them away.

I hate magnets. I spent the money on some highly recommended Vim socket rails and they don't work well for me at all. They do hold though. I can see why guys working out of mobile boxes and carts might like them. Sticky drawer liner suits my purposes better than magnets.

The correct GJ answer is to buy a second complete set of sockets for your shop cart ( cost being irrelevant ) and leave the other sets in your main box.

You can fasten them to the bottoms of your tool box drawers, or to a thin sheet of plywood that lays in your tool box. The plywood will absorb oil which may reduce the chances of your tools rusting.

Get the Blue one for metric, and the Red for American SAE sizes.
Much better for moving around, positive retention of the sockets, doesn't slide like slick plastic, and no numbered pegs to force additional socket purchases (Collect the whole set!!! mentality...)
