I'm researching a carport/three sided shelter for work, that will be used to store a canoe trailer and canoe equipment (paddles, PFD's, helmets, etc.) Dimensions are going to about 12'D x 24'L x 14'H, maybe as long as 30'. The open side will be along one long face with each side having a lockable storage area for the gear.
I'm looking to see if anyone has done anything similar, and how you did it. Right now I am looking into both stick built and steel structures. Currently the area is packed and graded dirt, but depending on building costs, we would like to pour a slab. Current Budget is ~$15,000. Thanks.

Here's some ideas:

I would think you could build one for that.
I am building a little garage for storage of boat and yard jusk. I wanted to make room in my shop. I am haveing a local guy build me a pole barn covered in metal. It will look alot like my shop. The basic 24X30 cost $7700.oo that is 10' walls one 3' walk in and one 18' overhead door. I did add a 14x 30 lean with cement and a extra over head door on one side. I also insulated to building. so my cost is $12,800. They shoud pour the cement today or Friday. The fram was put up last week.

Why not have roll up doors in front? The cost (you may find some useds ones) wouldnt be over 3 to 4 hundred per door. It will give you protection from thieves too.

We are located in a very low crime area outside of the city, and have a caretaker on the grounds during our off season. We have yet (knock on wood) to have any criminal activity at our location. But the doors would be ideal if they fit in our budget.
Ideally the structure will be able to be used for multiple purposes, including provisions for secure storage. The canoes themselves will be locked tothe Trailer, which will subsequently be secured as well. The accessories will need some sort of lockable storage however. I am still in the R&D phase for this, so roll up doors are a possibilty for sure. I personally am leaning towards a steel structure of some sort that will allow for stick framing of equipment lockers inside or against an exterior wall.
