Looking for info on an old vise

A friend brough over an old vise today for me to check out. I have never seen one like this. It operates with a lever on the side. There is no front/main screw. It is approximately 16 inches long, 9 inches high with 4 1/2 inch jaws and weighs maybe 50 ish pounds. The only markings I can find on it are "1C" and "2C". I am looking to identify it and if possibly figure out how to take it apart for a deep clean.

Stephens patent. If you look carefully on top of the slide, it should be marked.

Thank you for the quick response. Would the markings be more to the front or back and what would I be looking for? The top of the slide has seen some "use" over the years. It's kinda scratched up.
