Looking for info on Snap-on tool

I picked up a lot of tools this past weekend. There were a few mechanics tools. A couple of decent Plomb ratchets, a Williams 1/2" drive universal joint, and a Snap-on tool that I can only guess at. The knurled handle is spring loaded and engages the drive when pushed in. I'm guessing it's a speeder handle for the old ratchets that had a square hole in the head. Can anybody give me any info on this?

In the 1920s and 1930s, female-drive ratchets were the norm. That Snap-on tool was designed to pass through the ratchet (while engaging the female, square drive of the ratchet) and also permit the user to place the socket on the end of it. That's why it has a double-length drive plug.

The tool then acted as a stabilizing handle/turner...
