Hi gentlemen,
I've read this forum for years and joined tonight. I've been downsizing my tools since the beginning of the year. I'm a machinist so I have a lot of redundancy. I've had some screwdriver sets on Craiglist for over 6 months. I sold some Craftsman pros and I just got a hit today for a Wiha set and Felo set. The remaining set is a Craftsman set 941519 8 piece high corrosion stainless steel shaft set. Back in the day, I was able to trade in some worn screwdrivers for this set. It's in the original package and I don't think I ever used them. They looked to nice and I also knew that they would be too soft to last. Can anyone tell me anything about these? Thanks

I ran the part number, but couldn't find anything. Are these the red and black handle professionals? Do they have the letters WF on the handles? That would mean they're made by Western Forge.

Welcome to GJ.
Yes, they are rare.
Yours should be red/clear for slotted and blue/clear for phillips with white letters.
They were made by Pratt Read.
I am going to assume you got yours between 2002-2006.

Those are the ones. I originally had the same color ones but in regular steel. They weren't the base model ones but a step up. The regular craftsman had a straight handle piece were the ones I had were more of an ergonomic grip that flared from the top back. Those were my favorite.....until the tips wore. Then I went to the black handled ones....I'm not sure if they were the professional series or not. I have some old craftsman catalogs at work I'll have to look through. Thanks again

Are you talking about the stainless steel shanks? I'm not real familiar with the Huskys. The stainless steel shanks are like no other screwdrivers I've ever seen

On eBay recently, a four piece set in VGC went for 36+shipping.
A lot depends on if the fish are biting.
Hope that helps.

My 8 should be mint or near mint as I can't recall using them. The plastic case is made of a real weird plastic that is a little thin but other than that they are pretty perfect. I sold my Craftsman 80th anniversary 3 pc ratchet set to a collector recently for $80. I'll have to list them as a rare item I guess

The ends aren't heat treated like others I have owned. Even the black Craftsman pro I had, had treated tips and were garbage. That being said, these are rare and very collectible. That's the attraction

I have the 8 piece set. They are very good. The stainless shafts and tips are most likely heat treated. I've had no problems with them. Nice not to need to worry about rusting. I purchased them in 2005 from sears. They are worth what someone is willing to pay for them. On Ebay i would start at $50.00 or make an offer.

Thanks. They are definitely a 4-series stainless. I'm not sure of their hardness in regards to heat treating. Maybe I should just use them and enjoy them
