Looking for input on layout out garage/work area

As soon as I am done with my wiring I need to move the workshop out into the barn, which also means setting up and laying things out.

I was thinking of running some pallet racking along the back wall and using one of the shelves as work space. I am curious to hear input from folks, and maybe see some pics of similar spaces. The barn runs 40 ft across.

There are windows in the way, what is the standard practice - just don't put anything in front if there are shelves there so that they can still open and let light in? Or do I get smaller sections of shelving and leave the windows totally exposed..thoughts?

Keep the tablesaw away from the steel bench. Wood and metal/mechanical work do not mix.

That is just where it sits until its needed.

Put the work benches in front of the windows.
