Looking for input on Sandblasters

Looking to see if anyone has any contact info, company names, etc on somewhere I could look for sandblasting equipment.

A little background. I work at a company that sandblasts rims and powder coats them. We have a line setup just for this and can move quite a few rims through in a days time. The blast booths are setup just for rims tho, so getting anything else in there is not very practical.

We have a standalone "cyclone" cabinet that is a decent piece for what it is, however the blaster setup inside of it is still just a siphon type setup which doesnt have a whole lot of strength to remove anything quickly.

Lastly we have a cheap/generic blaster that is a pressurized tank/blaster...I'm sure you all have seen them. THis one actually works great when the weather cooperates outside however its downfall is it goes through media very quickly...which gets expensive very quickly as there is no way to reuse any of the media.

We have been getting quite a few inquiries to do motorcycle/4 wheeler frames and to do them with the outdoor units ends up being expensive because of the amount of media we use...and the cyclone cabinet gets expensive because it takes so long.

Has any one seen, own, or have any ideas on another setup we could purchase? The cabinet on the cyclone siphon unit is physically big enough, however the siphon setup just doesnt have the aggressiveness we need for this application. Open to any ideas at this point as my boss has asked that I start looking into it. Thank You!

Combine the pressure pot/ blaster with the cyclone cabinet if possible? That way you get to reclaim the media since it is in a closed cabinet and also have the pressure pot with dead man's handle.... Which will allow you to blast at a much more rapid rate then syphon feeding the media.

Contact TP tools. That's a big part of their business.
I have a ALC blaster. 100lb tank, etc. Works great. I also have a bead blast cabinet for smaller things.
As far as re-using sandblasting sand.... it doesn't work that well. It blasts great the first time, not so great the second time.... the third time it's all powder & just makes a mess anyway.

Our paint shop had a room just for sandblasting, the floor was grated with troughs and augers under it to recycle the media. This was for whole trucks and large equipment but a scaled down version might be something to look in to.

I appreciate the feedback guys, TP tools seems like they may be able to provide with something that would fit our needs. I'll have to give them a call tomorrow at work.

The separate blasting room sounds awesome, but prob. overkill for what we need. WE like the idea of keeping the blasting media in a cabinet as it allows the user not to have to use a respirator. Once a respirator is required there are classes and such that osha requires. We are not ready to make that jump yet for the few bikes frames that come our way...maybe down the road. You still should wear a respirator that fine dust is everywhere, when you open the door even clinging to the parts you just blasted. Silicosis is nothing to play around with.

TP Tools makes nice blasters. I have an old Truman's gun in my blaster. Truman's was the predecessor of TP Tools. For production I prefer Zero Blast n Peen. They use a pilot actuated regulator for better air (and media) flow. Look here:

It came w/ choice of media, they recommended "Skatmagic", I was less than impressed.
Get media from tractor supply now. Cheaper, almost no dust, and cuts very well.

Why not put a tarp down and collect/reuse the media that way?

No, they were out of stock w/ that. I do want to try it though.
I got this first, found it a bit too coarse.

Then I went with this I like it much better.
Alum. oxide worked pretty good, but it was real dusty in the cabinet
But I do want to get some beads to try.

We use Trinco direct pressure blast cabinets in our coating shop. We have three of them in varying size. They are not cheap, but if you are doing constant blasting like we do(we keep 2 guys blasting full time) its a must and will pay for itself.
