Hey everyone, I'm in the market for some new jack stands. I have some old Craftsman stands I still use but I'm wanting some newer/taller stands for working on my 2wd 01 Silverado. I've been looking for true made in the USA stands. I found some on Amazon that I posted pics of. What do you guys use and trust your life with? What are your opinions of these? Thank you.

I have some of the $20 HF 3 ton ones. I have heard okay things about their 6 ton ones.

Somebody made some nesting jack stands that also fit around a jackhttps://safejacks.com/products/the-rennstand-by-safe-jack-single-unit is an example of one. Not cheap, but sure fixes an issue I have run into a bunch.

I love my escos, but keep some old 6 ton craftsmans around for working on my 3/4 ton truck.

+1 on the Escos! By the way the red stand on the left has a rather small footprint, I would pass on them, as I wanted them a while back but didn't think they would be very stable.

There are about 2 companies makes the 3 and 6 pawl stands. Seems I bought HF and a set from the parts store and I cant recall which was which but the one set was a gauge heavier.

I like my Canadian made stands. You can make them any height you need.

That's what I was thinking to about the footprint and the more I look I don't care for the support pad, it looks narrow with just two small ribs. I think I'm going to forgo the two I posted and possibly go with Escos. Pricey but worth it for putting my life at risk. Thank you

You've got 2 very good top tier suggestions so far, U.S. Jack and Escos.

One that isnt the style your looking at, and not made in the US that I like and own is the Napa professional stands. They have a nice wide base with a bit of plating to help prevent sinking or digging into the driveway/etc. I've heard others suggest you can get the same thing at hf but imo the napa stands feel much more quality and of thicker gauge.

I have a set of those Omega ones that you posted a picture of in your original post. Only difference is the tops of mine are painted yellow. Just be sure the base is on solid ground, and I have zero worries about crawling around under heavy equipment with those things in place! Always smart to have a secondary backup in place just in case, such as wood blocks underneath other strategic support points, you can never be too safe.

I have two pair of the USJ 3 tonners I've been happy with. Not sure if they still do, but they used to have a sale every year around Thanksgiving. If I remember, it basically amounted to free shipping... was a chunk of change for my order (70 lbs).

Well I went with the Torin Big Reds. They have a double lock and 4 1/2 star reviews. Every stand I looked at had a few bad reviews, even made in USA ones. I won't use them but a few times a year and I can always put my 4 ton stands under truck as well for back up. Thank you all for your input.

I passed at buying Torins because they didn't have welded pads on the bottom of the legs. I ended up buying a brand with pads. I can lift my wife's RAV4 with the pads on grass but my other stands without pads sink and are less stable...I have to use 3/4 ply under those.
