I’d look at Capri or Tekton. The Sunex is a good option too. Many variations in those sets. I know Tekton has the impact versions. I have no experience with Astro so it’s not fair for me to recommend them.

as to hex bits the astro version has size 18mm and some other sae size vs the sunex does not have those 2.

Are the astro E torx new? I remember putting it down on an Astro wish list. Do wish they made the E10 in 1/4.

Never had an astro product that was less than stellar, sunex sockets are great as well you definitely won’t be disappointed with either

Is it possible for someone to measure the E8 and E10 depth? Trying to appreciate how compact these are to my Koken 1/4s

We tried making the E10 (and E12 for the matter) 1/4" to just make everything smaller, but the forge tooling form both sides meeting in the middle just would not have it, would never make a consistent precise piece. We had engineers banging their heads against this request of mine, so i understand why other brands dont do it - it's not from laziness. You could probably do it with different material, or not cold forging but we dont allow for that in the category on lifetime warranty tools.

Regarding hex bits, I will say it's our own design. At the time, and perhaps still i'm unsure, we were the only ones making forged S2 tool steel stubby impact bit sockets, they are cryo stress relieved as well. Several GJ members field tested various formulations for a year or two before we released our S2 bit series.

The Grey Pneumatic 998ET 1/4 drive impact set is only one inch in height.
They didnt have any problem manufacturing 10, 11, 12.
