Along with my nutdrivers I have
something similar to this so my sockets can be used as a nutdrivers
Mine is a MAC though.

I have one of those from Snap On. It is really a 1/4" extension with a plastic handle added. I can put my 1/4" ratchet on the back for more torque or use it as a nut driver. Is the MAC made that way?

What do you find you use these on? I've never had a use for one that I know of where I couldn't get a ratchet and extension on. Just curious if I should go buy a set! :)

Sometimes in cramp spaces, a ratchet can't fit so it's nice to have a tool that's linear without a 90 degree bend like a ratchet and extension has. Though you can just get a spinner handle with a 1/4 square end and put sockets on it.

Nut drivers are not pricey so they're just kinda nice to have.

I have Craftsman set and a set of old Xcelites. I like the Xcelites the best. The Xcelites have very visible full color handles which are drilled through almost to the end which will accommodate very long threads.

The hollow part of the shaft on Craftsman nut drivers isn't even 2" deep and the painted color coding is only about 1 inch around.

But both work fine.

^ all kinds of makers of 1/4" spinners put a 1/4" square hole in the **** end of the handle so it can be used as an extension or driven with a ratchet or breaker. Proto, etc. .... lots of others.

Yeah, l have the red handled Mac one, from about 1985 0r 1990,
Its made like that was really pretty handy with a ratchet on it.
Haven't used it much these days though.
Looks like this one.

i have sets of CM std and MM in the garage. plus extras of 1/4" & 5/16, not sure of the brand but they are a cushion grip similar to the CM's pictured previously. picked them up for a $1 or 2 on clearance at menards a few years ago.

i dont carry a full set in the my service truck, 7MM, 1/4", 5/16" 11/32" 3/8" and 7/16" are the only ones i need. most of them are SO, CM and vaco round them out.

i see singles in the $1 bins at pawn shops all the time. thats where i found the vaco

Ive had Xcelite SAE nut drivers for close to 25 years. Theyve got a ton of sizes. Metric, I picked up a Husky set from HD. Ive got a few Wiha mixed in there too.
