Looking for old spray paint and bucket paint

like i said in the title,looking for all kind of old spray paints and paint buckets for my collection.

label samples for old krylon and rustoleum

they can be empty or full its all the same since i wont use em,if you have any old spray can or bucket paint can from any brand (must be old) then feel free to PM me and we will find some deal in $ also please post a pic of can that you offer. Thanks!

Wow, Jure. That is something totally new to me, and I have been a collector of many things for many years. I have never known anyone to collect spray paint cans. But now that I think of it, I don't really know why. Might be very colorful and interesting to look at.

But there may be some difficulty in shipping them to you? There are some strict limitations on shipping spray paint in the USA. Not sure if that would affect you or not.

well i have few friends there in US,and they shipped it to me,paint buckets are pretty easy to ship,you have to drain the paint and put the can opened in the box so if they open the package they can see that can is empty,for spray paint is another story,in description on the box you can write "empty collectiable cans" also you can just write "toys" and it will pass also you can drain the can and "puncture" it (spray untill the can is without any pressure inside) and then drill a small hole under the can (on the bottom) in that case you can put a piece of paper on the can with message "empty drilled on the bottom" and cans must be wrapped in the plastic foil.


hehe y for some people collecting a paint cans is pretty weird but this will help,maybe ^^

“You collect what?”

I seem to get this question all the time, and usually, it’s followed by “Why?” What drives you? ‘Cause I know what drives me. The collecting bug bit me early on, from old issues of TV Guide to baseball cards and, now, aerosol paint cans. It’s preserving a piece of history, disposable history. Originally, like most can collectors, I was looking for that one color to fill the void. I was in search of a Jungle Green, Avocado, Hot Pink, or any of the other off-the-wall colors. I started at a point in time when there was no Belton, Montana—or, as I like to call it, “Yuppie” paint. I was on a hunt, determined to add a small bit of flavor to what I did.

Over the past few years, I have seen a lot of things change. Collecting paint to use is almost a thing of the past, and it seems now that some use their paint as a status symbol. Cans no longer go to the “crate” but up on a shelf, a trophy of some sort, a prized collectible. I’ve had people ask me, “What can I get for this?” and “Is there a price guide?” If this is why you collect, then just give up now. This is no way to make a living.

Collecting paint has brought me halfway around the country. I’ve been hit on by horrendous strippers, bargained with a man with no mouth, and seen a car door pulled off its hinges just to let someone out from the back seat who then gave me directions to the same damn store I was just at. I’ve seen cartloads of Lime Green, stores closed with stock since the day I was born, and numerous cases of the “dusty fingers.” Adventures, memories and good times, with good people. This has been my daily motivation for collecting. At the end of the day, it’s nice to hold a mint ’59 Coral Pink. You can drive 500 miles through snow and cross four states — and come up with nothing. That’s all part of it, and something I’ve come to expect. I am in no rush. If I completed my collection (an impossible feat), what would I do? Would it be over? I don’t want it to be over. It’s been a great ride so far, and the journey has just begun.

This is too cool. I'll dig threw my supply and see what I have. It's likely I have some '80's vintage from my father. Croatia is an interesting country with diverse scenery. One of the more fascinating places I've been. Stunning coastline and bullet-hole riddled buildings. Quite the contrast. Genuinely friendly people.

Also, when you mentioned "bucket paint" cans, I ASSUME that you mean automotive paint cans, right? Surely you are not interested in house paint, furniture stain/varnish, etc?

I have some bucket cans at work, including a few new ones, which have never been filled with paint. They are from a company who makes automotive paint for collector cars, and look pretty good. But I keep forgetting to bring them home and photograph them. Hopefully I can remember them and put together a box load of cans to ship to your US resource for you.

Also, lately whenever I see used spray paint cans at yard sales, I think of you each immediately...but I am afraid to buy them for you (I don't want to spend cash to buy old paint cans, just to find out that you don't need them. Then they would sit around on my over-crowded shelves. Nor would I want you to buy paint cans that you didn't want...that wouldn't be fair either.) Also, MOST old paint cans that I find have drips of paint, etc, on their labels. I ASSUME that you would prefer to avoid that. So...should I buy old paint cans for you if the label is not so good?

Tomorrow I will print out your list on my work-office printer, and keep it in my truck, for whenever I go to flea markets and yard sales. I hope I will find paint cans that you want...and I hope that I WON'T find paint cans that you don't want.

frips on the lable are ok it label is lytho (painted label) if label is paper then i dont need drips just let me know what you have

Cool hobby. I will post pics of what I find at my girlfriends house. Her Dad has tons of stuff from 1960s and '70s. He did a lot of metal work and furniture restoration so there has got to be some cans there.
I collect license plates. If I find some good cans for you maybe we could swap for some Croatian license plates. Or any other European country.
Give me a few days to hunt.
