I have a 30x60 "welding table" with 1/2 inch top and it's on wheels. While brainstorming this wknd I thought about welding a frame on each end, underneath of course, to hold both the stick and mig welder. I decided I'd better get some opinions from those more knowlegeable(sp?) than myself:) I also have a small desk pedestal with drawers which would be perfect for storing supplies.

Basically the same size as your table.

I'm going to be putting both my mig and tig on the inside and having a platform on one side for the bottle to sit on. Otherside will have a small tool box to hold tools and consumables. This is just the frame. I designed it so everything welding could go in it

I would say the stick is fine under the top. I find that a dedicated cart for the mig is better. Under the table it is in a fixed position meaning the gun cable will need to be bended, turned, twister , or whatever to get to the welding location. With a separate cart you can move it anywhere to avoid an tight bends or kinks in the gun. This will also give you some storage space on the shelf where the machine would go. It could also provide a wider range of usable gun length by having it mobile.
