looking for padded shop flooring

I've been spending 3-4 hours a night at the work bench on a few projects and after all day on my feet would like to find some sort of padded/rubber type flooring. I looked at air-cell type from commercial kitchens but they are big $$$$'s and I doubt they would withstand sparks from welder/grinder/etc. any ideas?

Head over to the feed store and ask about the mats the put down for the dairy cows to walk on. Large and great on the feet and legs.

I am looking into a 4x6 3/4" thick stall mat for my garage.
Not sure on the resistance to sparks though.

Costco member? I just picked up 320 feet/sq of the 2x2 anti-fatigue mats....best price around too....$12 for 32 feet/sq. this stuff is great for walking/standing on in the garage. I have it all around my 4 post lift as well as between the ramps. I don't drive on it (I park on the ramps) so it doesn't get squashed by the car. The interlocking tiles go down fast, and are easily swapped if one gets damaged. Best thing about them is in the winter I can walk out to the car in my socks and not get cold feet!

They show up from time to time. I had to ask for them to restock them....there is a desk at the return counter for requesting items. they sell fast when they come in. Also, you can ask a manager to enter a request in their store computer....I did that also, so it looks like more than one customer wants them....I couldn't believe it when the system actually worked for me! Oh, I forgot to mention, they are great for kneeling on when you are working on your ride...no need to find a scrap of carpet when doing low to the ground work. I'll take a pic some day and post it here for ya

They hide that stuff at our costco back in amongst the janitorial supplies. You know-the isle that no one goes into at the back of the store where it stnks like cleaners and soaps.. Check it out

They have the anti-fatigue mats at Sears Hardware stores too, I just saw them last weekend.

Only problem with the mats being discussed is they burn fast (welding) and get dirty fast. I have a bunch of them. I also have some basic black rubber ones that don't burn and are always....black....

even a piece of plywwod is better than standing on concrete............use the mats on top when not welding,etc.......

Old Speedway tires make for good floor matts. I have mentioned it here before.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions...I cheaped out and went to Costco...for the price you can't beat 'um. Just gotta remember to pull them up or cover them when welding or grinding.

Walmart sells the same type stuff in their fitness section. You can find it by the weights.

I bought 60 some feet for around 50 bucks
