I was wondering if anyone still makes nails/fasteners for the older, high velocity Ramset guns (122md Jobmaster)? I know Ramset doesn't make anything, but wasn't sure if anyone else might still make something?

Secondary question: why did they stop making the high velocity gun?

I think it was safety reasons. As an apprentice I worked with a crew of Finnlanders . They were bit crazy, having grown up around a lot of unfired ordinance . I remember one carpenter shooting seagulls with a Ramset. I much preferred Ramset to Hilti for holding power.

Have you tried to find old stock?

While in this used tools store, I have seen Ramset supplies. They buy estate tools and bits-n-pieces kind of stuff. I never know what they have on hand.

Their website isn't very informative, they turn over stuff too fast to post it. Best to call.

Call and ask for Steve, he'll know what they have on hand.

Thanks, I'll try and give them a call tomorrow.

As for searching, I've looked mainly just on e-bay.....

Cool. Good people in that store, they have been around for ever. Steve is the third generation owner.

I have seen Ramset stuff at the thrift stores too. I have had to tell the manger that he can't leave the live charges out just on the shelves or maybe even sell them at all? Also seen the type you hit with a hammer, loaded and out on the shelves too.

The thrift store people just don't know what they have.

How long ago would they have stopped making the fasteners? I've got a Ramset D75 ( I think) in the attic of the garage. It's likely I'll never use it again.

The nails that HD sells aren't for the older high velocity guns, but are for the low velocity guns.
