I am scraping a concrete foundation to remove peeling paint and joint compound that was put under the paint. Scraper blade attachments for a reciprocating saw (e.g., https://www.amazon.com/Reciprocatin...n-Cleaning/dp/B0B1HC5B3Q?tag=atomicindus08-20) are making the work a lot faster and easier than the manual scraper I was using initially. However, occasionally the scraper hits an irregularity in the concrete that causes it to get caught, which jars the scraper blade, tool, and operator. Eventually the tang on the scraper fails from the impacts. I am looking for an attachment to go between the saw and the scraper to absorb the shock of these occasional impacts. Is there something on the market to do that?
What I want is a piece that functions like the one in the sketch below.

The spring would be tensioned enough initially that this shock absorber would normally act as a short extension only, but when the scraper got caught, it would allow motion to absorb the force. Thanks for any assistance.
