Looking for Rubber Socket Rails...?

I'd swear such a thing used to exist, but now I can't find it anywhere... perhaps my Google-Fu is getting weak.

I want a rubber (or urethane, or whatever) socket rail to keep the 1/4" drive sockets in my motorcycle tool kit a little neater. A rigid rail would keep the tool roll from rolling up, and would probably get beat to death pretty quickly.

Any leads on flexible socket rails?

Or maybe there's some clever way to make one with RTV, Silly String, and llama spit.

Or maybe there's a way to keep sockets on a chain or something. That could be pretty neat.

Those Weldtab socket holders are neat. Before I order some I have a few questions:

1. Does anything hold the sockets in place? Is it just a urethane post or is there a dimple or something that retains the socket?

2. If the socket holders get a lot of use do the urethane posts wear or possibly even break off?

3. How flexible are the socket holders? It there a metal core or other material inside the urethane?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I think i seen a vid on them a while back. Flexible enough to roll up, and the sockets twist on.

1. There's a little ring cast into each post that retains the sockets; the posts are round and have a shape that sort of looks like an o-ring near the tip. On the 1/4" drive one, I'm finding some crappy no-name sockets lock in better than others and some won't go on all the way and snap into place. Results are much better and more consistent with higher-quality sockets. I think cheap sockets save a ha'penny by skipping or skimping on forming the retaining dimples inside the drive end.

2. No idea, but the urethane is very strong and flexible. I wouldn't expect any issues long-term based on my past experiences with this material.

3. Very flexible. There's no core or anything. They're 100% molded urethane. I cut one in half with a pair of shears so it would fit in my tool kit.
