I want to put together a new set of tools to keep in my travel trailer.

Any suggestions of brands or a specific model of metal portable tool box? Looking for something that isn't very long.

And maybe a cantilever model instead of removable tray. But only 1 level of cantilever instead of 2 on each side. Want to keep it fairly simple.

Thanks.

Of those two boxes listed above, I'd go for the Husky...$20 cheaper and has ball bearing slides.

Cants don't have things shaking the **** out of drawers. They open whole sets fast. Sears has or had, and see them at yards, but big ole double cant that held enuf stuff to tear the engine out of a car.

Trusco makes a nice looking one (like jetdawg mentioned). I like the size and style-no experience with it, however...

+1 for Kennedy or Craftsman double cantilever toolbox. The Kennedy can be found on CL from $25 to $75 and less for the Craftsman. Have it hold all the small/unusual stuff you could possibly need in the RV. Keep screwdrivers, electrical and all your do-dads/gizmos in there.

Supplement with affordable plastic case Craftsman 3/8" drive set where every piece held in place, including bits for bitdriver. Last year would have been time to buy as they were clearing out remaining Made in USA sets. Likely can still get on Ebay.

I got one of those huskys, like it alot for what it is. They had them for sale for $30 for a couple months, I though it was a permanent drop but it might just be a store thing.

If you are talking about the 1018 then I hope the op got a strong back. I got a gov contract one from the '60's and it weighs a metric fuckton with stuff in it. Feels like I am carrying a boat anchor.
