Hi all,
Can anyone share some information on the various categories of Reed vises? In my limited searching I’ve mainly seen the C series (1/2/3/4), 204 and 24/25. The C series seem very versatile, but hard to find and pricey in the larger sizes. The 204 looks beefy and plentiful. The 24/25 look versatile with the straight and pipe jaws but appears to be lighter duty that the other 2 styles mentioned.
I’m looking for a 4”-5” vise with a swivel base to replace the one that lived on my grandfather’s bench for my entire life and probably most of my father’s. I think it was a Reed 204 or 204 1/2 but it now lives at my sister’s house and I forgot to check the last time I was there.
