Looking for some layout help

Received a pleasant surprise from the builder. He was able to get the ceiling much higher than expected (appox 13’-14’ high). The ends will slope down slightly to meet the 10’ wall height at the front and back of the garage. There is a double wide door in the front, and a single in the back to allow us to pull thru.

This now changes my thoughts for T8 lighting with the slopes at the ends, or should it? I have attached what I thought may be a decent layout. Is it overkill? 8’ long T8s, 9 of them total. Garage is a little narrow, but 28’ deep. Also going to add a ceiling fan in the middle to help move some heat around in the winter.

If the 8 foot fixtures are doubles (e.g. 4x 4 foot bulbs) then I think you're about perfect.

I have 24 4 foot bulbs in a 20x20 with 9 foot ceilings. With 5k temperature bulbs, the lighting is white and bright but not blinding.

Overall it looks like enough light. Although, you may want to think about where work benches will be located and add a light directly above to decrease shadows on the work area.

I would move the side lights closer to the walls so you get direct light down by the wheels of cars. 1 ft from the walls would be good if there will be nothing against the walls to block the light.

Then its about as good as it gets. You will need to see what's on the shelves too.

I think it depends on the brightness rating of the bulbs. I could use some more fixtures in my 24X24. I have four two bulb fixtures, 4 ft, T12s, then a two bulb four foot T8 for the bench area. I also came up with about four feet of LED strips from a store that I will use in cabinets some how, maybe along the workbench splash board. But the four fixtures I have are OK for my needs, but I am usually out there during the day, and have two windows as well.

You're good,I would **** the fixtures together with no gap in between them though.

Didn't think about that but really can't. I could move the outside ones up the sloped portion of the ceiling to meet where it goes to flat, but figured with the sides being sloped, having them up high may create too much of a dark area above each garage door.
