Looking for specific concrete guy, Indianapolis

Hey,

I am looking for the thread and the poster of a guy from this forum ( I think), that lives in the Indianapolis area, he does concrete and stamped concrete. He also talked in a post he made about what would take stains out of concrete garage floors. I think he lives either on the S. side of Indy or maybe New Palestine. Looking for his name and the thread too! I think I read the thread early on when I joined this forum back in March or Feb of 2012...this year.

We're you the one that posted earlier this year that cement will draw out stains in concrete? Just had a fuel oil tank removed from my basement and of course some of it spilled, not a lot.
I did put down some cement, hope it takes the stain out and help with the smell. Otherwise will try activated carbon to get rid of the smell.

Yes, Raw portland cement will draw out oils in concrete. It may take several placements and it's not fast but does work. A little trick on odors, get some coffee grounds and put them in some flat pans. Place them around a couple areas and it will eat the smell. I've got a list of stuff on my computer, I'll check and see if there's any other tracks for you.

Dean Thanks! The guy didn't spill a lot...nothing like a gallon, more like a couple of cups. When you think that he pumped out about 100 / 110 gallons then it was a drop. Swept up the concrete yesterday and it doesn't look bad, it is in my basement and I am going to move the basement work bench to that wall anyway, most of the area will be covered up.

Cool. I was thinking deep setting stains. A degreaser of some type should do ya well. Oils will penetrate deeply into concrete and it takes patience to pull it out.
