New here, i've been reading posts for the past couple days to hopefully get some ideas, but instead i've just been envying some of the garages and shops in the garage gallery section.
To start off, i'm 20 years old, live with my parents, and have been granted the use of the garage to set up my tools/workspace. I mostly work on cars and trucks, therefore i have more smaller hand tools that i keep in my craftsman rolling toolbox setup, and tool storage isn't really a major issue. we also have a shed for the landscape tools, and my dad has his woodworking and general house maintenance stuff in the basement where his workshop is.
I've already built myself a big sturdy bench, 3x8 surface, 42" tall with a raised shelf underneath. I hung one cabinet over the bench from our kitchen renovation years ago, and have a 2 lamp light with a large reflector from home depot hanging underneath that cabinet. i also have 3 similar lights in a row over the back half of the garage where the bench is.
Just today i began installing drywall that will go on 2 sides of the garage. The rear side where the bench is already has pegboard on it, so i will just be painting that to match the other walls. My dad didn't really think i should bother hanging drywall on the front of the garage because it would involve moving all the brackets from the doors.
Both of my parents normally park their cars inside the garage, so i cant take the entire space.
What i'm looking for are suggestions as to what i should add or change to my current setup. I'm looking for a good storage rack type thing for some frequently used landscape tools (rakes, shovel, clippers, etc), and any other suggestions for my workspace. Keep in mind though, i'm on a 20 year olds budget and my dad will only cover the cost of things that he see's necessary.
Here are some pictures of the current set up.
bench shortly after i built it
current tool storage
drywall being installed today
I will post more pictures of the entire space tomorrow, these are only what i had on my cell phone at the moment
