While I understand classic Japenese cars are not every one's cup of tea... I need to find a replacement winshield for my 86 Toyota Corolla (AE86) Once a very common vehicle, not not so much. Any suggestions? Thank You

Have you tried the big replacement glass companies? If the car is currently registered/insured in Mass, it's their problem to find the correct windshield, right? :)

What he said. Surely you will be able to find it. How much it costs on the other hand......I'm sure is going to depend on how rare or hard to find it is.

Appreciate all replies. There is more detail. It is not registered. I found the car and bought it to restore. It is somewhat rare now (believe it or not it is in very good minimal rust ) condition. I have checked some traditional glass companies and they just laugh when I say 1986....

I had no problem finding one for my ‘94 Celica. Even had the choice of clear or tinted top edge.

I found the guys to do it on yelp of all places. They don’t have a shop, just work out of a van and came to me. Gave me a deal because I had them do my truck and the car at the same time.

Find someone that does mobile installs and pulls junkyard windshields, they are usually the most flexible and have good sources for odd makes and models  There is a guy locally that will pull a junkyard windshield and come to your house to install it for under $250 most times :pimpflash

I'm not sure how bad your windshield is or to what level you are attempting to restore it to. There is someone parting one out on ebay, and is selling glass for it. Though he does not list the windshield itself, a simple message to him through ebay inquiring about the windshield...what shape it is in, is he willing to list it for sale, etc. can't hurt if you are willing to go used route. if you go to ebay and put in 1986 Toyota corolla glass the guy parting out an ae86 will be at the top. At the moment, he has the rear glass, both side windows and some other items for sale. I have gone this route trying to find parts for my 54 chevy in the past.

Are you looking for an original winshield or just a replacement? Have you tried glass america? I have used them before for a 95 chevy pickup.

The ae86 is a prety popular drift car so you may look on one of those forums for a guy parting out.

I asked a glass company about a windshield for my 1966 Rambler and they said no problem, but only available in tinted.

All great suggestions. Big THANK YOU to all who replied. There is hope now!! I don't need an OEM winshield just a replacement so I can eventually drive this classic Japense car around...

Usually Safelite is almost always PPG Glass, so as good or better the OEM.

Read somewhere that Safelite is getting into the mfg business and away from PPG. AKA: Importing from China.
When they did my '15 Mustang they had to use Ford glass since nothing was made aftermarket yet.
