I am re-working my garage layout in an effort to make it much cleaner and workable. One of my goals is to "hide" my lawn mower, weed eater, gas cans, etc.

My idea is to build a long workbench, one that stretches the length of the long wall in my 2 car garage. I would like to build it in such a way that I can easily store and retrieve my lawn equipment on the weekends.

I'm looking at benches on Google in search of a design that I think will work and that I can build on my own.

Does anyone here have such an apparatus? Are you able to hide the unsightly lawn equipment underneath?

Inspiration is what I'm looking for, because I'm not "seeing" it yet enough to draw it out.

+1 on the shed.

A garage becomes a whole 'nother animal once it stops functioning as storage for lawn tool and kids' toys.

Can you build a shed? The best thing I ever did was get my lawn stuff out of the garage.

Absolutely!

I added 12 x 18 onto the side of my garage to get the lawn and garden **** and the air compressor out of my garage.

I didn't do a workbench but I did build a cabinet to hold all my yard tools. I'm able to keep my wheelbarrow, fertilizer spreader, yard tools, weed eater, edger and etc.. It is 48" wide by 28" deep. I used the wheelbarrow as my guide for how deep to make it. I'm trying to upload pictures to give you an idea of what I did. Now it doesn't have the mower and it isn't a workbench but maybe it may be something you can get some ideas from. Look for pictures to follow soon.

I'm in the process of painting the cabinets but you get the idea.
