So I’m looking into purchasing a pro press setup to press up to 2” copper. This will be a tool used in a manufacturing plant to make emergency repairs as well as new installations. All the contractors I see are using either Ridgid or Milwauke. We are standardized on Dewalt as a battery platform. Anyone here have any experience with the Dewalt Propress tool? This is not a tool that we be used every day, but when it’s needed it will be needed in in emergency. I’m not against using another battery platform but with Dewalt there will never be a problem finding a charged battery. Also are the press jaws universal between al the platforms or are they proprietar?

I have used dewalts pro press, the jaws can not be used on say Milwaukee if that's what your asking? from the time i have used dewalts version it was ok, i did not have any problems with it. if you are only using it for emergency i dont see an issue, However if you start using it every day crimping 100+ a day i would say get a better set up. they don't last long using it hard everyday, i have had installers tell me they break often and then trying to get the manufacture to fix is a pain

I'm not generally a DeWalt fan, but since I haven't used their tool I'll pass on making a judgement about it.
I've used both Ridgid and Milwaukee. Both have advantages. Both have 12V and 18V tools, so you need to consider how long they're being used and what size tubing they're being used on. The Milwaukee tools tend to be a little smaller and maneuverable.
