I have several of the Edsal 24x48x60 inch units. They're not quite as stout as the units you linked to. They're advertised as 800lb per shelf - 4000 lbs total.
The structure might be capable of that, but the shelf itself is not. I substituted pieces of synthetic bowling lane panel instead of the **** they provided.
Overall I'm happy with them and the price is decent for the size and capacity. . Lowe's sells a similar model. It seems at least one of them puts it on Black Friday special each year. If you can wait a month, you might save a few bucks.

I just got off the phone with the pro desk at Lowes. I have a pro account and they can get me a better price on multiples. They qoutes $150 ($40 off) on the Edsal 3 shelf and $260 ($60 off) on the big Gladiator. Im going to go look at he Edsal and see if I can order a couple extra shelves.

Do you need shelving that is as heavy duty as the Husky unit you linked? The 48"x 24" Gladiator shelving unit linked below is heavy duty, good looking and gets great reviews. I have a few of the Craftsman red-black shelving units, which are similar to these Gladiator units. I have them really loaded down and I'm happy with them.

I've bought and used the Whirlpool Corp. 'Gladiator' brand shelving, the size I get is 2,000 lbs/shelf, 'equally-distributed.' I'm happy with them. They have different sizes/lengths and depths. No tools needed.

I cut a piece of Masonite to the size of the wire rack shelving surface, it makes it easy to slide things onto/off the shelves. It also keeps things from falling through the wire shelving.

The gauge of the steel I think is beefier on the Gladiator than the Edsal, the major thing I noticed is the Gladiator uses three cross-pieces/shelf, where the Edsal and Costco used fewer, for the size racks I buy. I have them down one-side of my 2-car garage, and also I use 'em in a storage unit I have. They are sturdy, they don't bow, flex, or otherwise distort from the loads I put on 'em, hundreds of pounds per shelf. I also cut down the depth to match the returns to the side walls in my garage, I've posted the method elsewhere in another thread on the forum. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=366925&highlight=gladiator

Best Buy sometimes has the largest size on-sale, about $160, same with Sears, but you might have to wait a long time to see a Sears run a sale like that, these days.

https://www.lowes.com/pd/Gladiator-...rtified-Freestanding-Shelving-Unit/1000003004 but the current advertised price is $209.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/gladia...helf-hammered-granite/5831410.p?skuId=5831410 $229 right now, though I've bought them there on-sale for ~$160.

I was thinking the same way, bought 8 sections for my basement from home depot about 15 years ago, about 2 years later they changed styles, now I can not find the matching model any longer and I need more now.

Check out Nexel shelving. I love these! Have them in my garage ad one in my basement. Very strong, you add to them if you need to and they have plexiglass for the shelving if you want it. The also come with large very sturdy wheels if you want those also. I love it so when I clean my garage I can move it to clean behind it. Very easy to put together.

I think Im pulling the trigger on the Gladiator. Its just so much beefier and looks great. I do have some very heavy fiberglass ( I manufacture boat flag poles) and I can actually store materials on these. The 4 rack 72x77 holds 8000 pounds!

ALL: if you have 20 foot wall and you can have shelving 2 feet deep these 6.5 foot high shelving units our Costco sells for $160 work pretty well. this stock picture is 2 shelving unit boxes so $320 gets you 20x6.5x2 and I think shelvings rate up there around 1,000 pounds. I think these are very similar to Husky or Gladiator and sorry I just can't recall the maker, but might be Warne

I use racking like Home Depot and Costco sell their stuff on in my storage unit cause my ceiling is 14 foot tall so a 12 foot rack really does help me use the space up above.

I just purchased the Gladiator brand from Walmart for $139.00 w/free delivery. They are the 72”H x 78”W x 24”D 3 shelf ones! Also I was at Costco yesterday and they had the edsal unit with the same dimensions but with 4 shelves for $129.00.

I bought some of these from Sam's for my Laundry room. I like them so much I am going to get 4 of them when I catch them on sale for my garage. They are very sturdy, adjustable placement for shelves and on wheels so I can easily rearrange my garage as I change things.
They hold 500# per shelf.

Just thought I would mention the 77" shelves are currently on sale at a number of retailers. $137 at HD is the cheapest, $139 at Lowe's. BB has free delivery, and they should price match, so I'm going to go that route :)

I bought 2 of the HD shelves when they went on sale for $150 on Black Friday. When I looked at the paperwork, they said Edsal mfg.

FWIW, the picture of the Costco unit looks just like it.

I also have those wire rack shelves and they are sturdy also. I think it comes down to where you can get either style the cheapest.

I got it.........Go here..https://www.repurposedmaterialsinc.com/pallet-racking/

Check out the Chicago inventory.....20ft uprights can easily be cut into two 10's. Buy 8 or 10 beams for each upright, that will give 4 or 5 shelves. The industrial beams are notched for a 2x4 center support, on a 2ft shelf thats two 2x4x8 and one pc of chipboard for every 2 shelves that will literally hold ANYTHING. Buy plenty, pay the shipping fee, sell off the extra units locally to other shop and garage owners that need a section of HD shelving........get into yours for free or close to it!! I'm sure many folks would rather have a 10x8x2 section of that for $150 as opposed to the box store offering at just over $200.

With the casters on them, load those rated-at 500 pounds per shelf, and watch as the casters bend and collapse as you load them to half of that! Very unsafe! They may-hold "to 500 pounds, per-shelf" on the stick legs, without casters, but seeing how they collapse using the casters, I would be leery of that rating, even with the poles/no casters. I do have and use those restaurant shelving which I use in my garage and storage unit, on casters, but they are loaded nowhere-near that maximum load rating. Even-then you have to be very-careful trying to use the supplied casters, as a side-load while attempting to move them loaded can and will bend the caster wheel dowel inside the leg.

As I mentioned, the Gladiator units are to me, made better, of heavier material than the Costco shelves.

I agree. We have over 100+ of these wire shelving racks at work for organizing project parts on. The casters are by far the weak point and I'd say 1000 lbs total is their limit.
