A transfer switch is still the safer method since it's a break-before-make switch. The chances of a regular breaker failing in the closed position is probably slim, but I figured why chance the liability.

I own a Generac 3250 watt Propane powered generator. Always starts on first or second pull and is not very loud.
I like it because I don't have to worry about gasoline going bad or rotating gas cans etc. I usually have 4 20 pound kegs on hand . 2 full ones and 2 that are used for grill and smoker.
