Occam's Razor (and the instruction sheet) says 1943
Craftsman 1/2" drive beam-type 150 ft. lbs torque wrench - 1942 Craftsman catalog pp 11
The same unit (same number) appears as well in the 1941 catalog, but with a price of $6.95
There are no torque wrenches appearing in the 1939 Craftsman catalog. ITCL doesn't have a 1940 or 1943 edition.
Curious to know what sort of production code that unit might have on it.

Right. Talk about a stiff date. When I first read the title, I wondered why someone would want to date a Craftsman Torque Wrench, then I realized they want a date of manufacture![]()
He thought he was getting a date w Nurse Ratched from One Flew, just misspoke.I wondered why someone would want to date a Craftsman Torque Wrench
