I have the chrome handled version and love it. No, that's not too long for a 1/4" ratchet. Often times, you need the low head clearance of 1/4" drive but also need some leverage. Of course, you should also have a short handled ratchet as well.

Mine should be in my box next week. Although Im taking the comfort handle off and putting a black NOS hard handle on it. Should be about 1/2" shorter than the comfort handle.

I also have the chrome handle short 1/4" ratchet and find that its a bit too short; but it does come in handy which is why I have both

I love that ratchet! good length for leverage, plus, you can fold the handle all the way back and make a little speeder to start bolts.
I liked mine so much I bought a T72 a week later.
The set of stubby torx sockets with the ratchet is a really nice match.

Y'all got one of these? U guys think 8 1/4 " is too long for 1/4 drive?

It is not too long unless your in a really cramped spot.
It works well for larger bolts that are tight .

You may want to consider getting the THLX72 which is the locking version of this ratchet.

It is on sale right now on the website ,so it is cheaper than the THLF72.

^^^what he said.....I have both the locking and non locking and I much prefer the locking feature. You can even lock the locking mechanism out so it's like a regular flex. Best of both worlds!
