Looking to Purchase New Air Compressor Help!!

I'm looking to purchase a new air compressor which seems like an easy task. I"m looking for something between $100-$250 that will only be used for filling up tires, blowing out parts, etc. It won't get heavy use and I'd like it to be vertical with at least a 10 gal tank. I thought this task would be much easier, however after reading countless reviews on craftsman, HF, etc I don't know which direction to turn. If anyone has had great experience with their air compressor please let me know. It seems that craftsman isn't built like it use to be, HF has its fair share of problems and so do others! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Tim

Buy a used vertical piston compressor from Craigslist. NOT an oilless (like mine). It will give you years (decades?) of reliable service. And it will be QUIET.

Better to have "bigger-than-you-need" and not use it, than to need "bigger-than-you-have" and not HAVE it!
