Proto socket sets come on clips and rails. Super easy to tell if one is missing.

When I was looking at a SK 1/4 drive set, they came on metal rails.

Not sure if SK sockets have changed but what I liked was that the lettering and sizes were made for socket rails. A Snap-on sockets lettering is reversed and made for Hansen trays

I got the set in yesterday and put it to use today when I could, although today I didn’t have much of a chance to use 1/4. The ratchet and sockets seem like much higher quality than the Maximum ones, with much lower backdrag and tighter fit on the anvil and the fastener. I’m very happy with my purchase, and I will likely buy more SK in the future as needed. On the other hand, I realized when the package arrived that I had accidentally ordered the 3/8 stubby Tekton instead of the 1/4. While it does seem like a great ratchet for the money, and will go well with the extra long Tektons I already own, I haven’t found much of a need for a stubby 3/8 yet. I’m sure I’ll be glad I made that mistake at some point when I’m in a pinch though.
