Can anyone tell me what amperage this wire is rated for? These are the words that are imprinted in the cover (to the best that I could read them).
Capwire 2 CORS 2 AL 1 CDR 2 AL Type SE Cable Style U type XHHW CDRS 300 volts to ground.

If I read it right, you are rated for 75 amp.

That wire can be used at 75 DEG C which is 90 amps. If it's buried within insulation for the majority of its length then it is limited to 60 deg C which is 75 amps.

If a subpanel, then u need 4-wire...

That is #2 SEU cable, aluminum.
Good for a 100A residential service, not much else.

It was installed on an existing residential service. It didn't look good enough for a 200 amp service. It's a very old house.

U need 4/0 AL for 200a service!

Are u SURE it was 200a service?
