Funny I love those old drills but around in my area they don't seem to sell very well; I am guessing everyone wants new drills with all the bells and whistles

Althogh I'll probably get slagged here on GJ for saying this, they don't sell as they don't really work that well compared to a quality new drill. Sure, better than an el cheapo. But not better than a comparable unit.
Plus, many have been bit and shocked by those with a bad cord.

I have used big old drills like that and the newer drills can't hang. I have smoked brand new Dewalts and had to go dig the big silver guy out the gang box to get the job done. We would mix castabel refractory in buckets. That stuff was so thick it would spin the bucket under your feet or give you a ride. Hehe good times. We had a big old B&D with a long handle with the trigger in it and some 3/4 pipe screwed in the other side I think it was a 1" drill. It turned soooo slow but it would turn the world if you could hold it. I think the chuck fell out of it and my dad gave it away as we had no more use for it getting out of the boiler business.
