Hey all, just want to say it's good to finally be posting, after 5+ years of lurking it felt weird to just watch. I found this great place through Jockey Journal, back when times were good I had a small revolving stable of bikes. Here's a couple pics of my humble garage back when the toys floweth......

So after a boo-hoo story or two I don't have that house or the toys and have been renting for the last 4 or so years, so I haven't had the desire or cash to do anything with a rental. Even though I have checked in here pretty frequently I just haven't been feeling 'it'. Especially after following threads like the Underground Bunker (I hate that thread almost as much as I love it).

But enough with the flashback, on with the present!!!!!! Escrow is to close by the 31st of Dec on my new (to me) 3 car garage with attached house, it has the typical 2 finished walls, open rafters, not enough outlets, etc. So expect a lot of the same ol' questions and slow progress pics.
I sketched out a little.......sketch, today at work, already making plans for my new dwelling. Check it...

I know my sketch is not to scale, things are out of whack, and so on, but bear with me. The plan is for the 1 car section to be a lounge type deal, the 2 car section will be a working garage/workshop. Floor may be VCT, walls will be 3-tone, cabinets will be free or cheap, and beer will be cold.

I think that's about the longest intro I have ever given, but after lurking for so long I felt I had to offer a little more than "Hi, I have a garage".

Welcome from another SoCal guy.....

You have the right attitude on the garage.....but a little advice....get into the house and settled first....the garage is going to end up being a staging area for the house. Take your time.....it will give us more time to help you spend your money...

So...are you South or North of the 405? Or, E or W of the 605?

Thanks all.
I know I'm jumping the gun by already making plans for the garage, I made it clear to the wife that I'm getting a commuter car before anything and she made it clear that we're getting some new home furnishings before I overhaul the garage. But once the time comes.....paint is cheap enough, I have an electrician buddy that lives down the street, I'll do drywall myself, and by then I should have some free/cheap cabinets stocked up. The most expensive thing will be the .60 per sq ft tiles.

For now I'll just doodle my pics, take measurements, and plan.

I guess I should fill out my profile now that I'm officially here, I'll be moving to Riverside off the 215 just west of March Air Base.

Got the Chevy part right. It's actually the rear of a 63' or 64' Impala, you can see it in the very first pic in my old garage. I may give it a proper paint job now, it's been wearing primer long enough.

Ahhh now I see it. My crappy Droid failed me again.

That is sweet, any plans on tail light fixtures and paint for it?

Yup, I've been tossing around ideas for a while now. I was going to go all out and get trim and wire up some 110v lights. Or I may fill the trim holes and just use the 59' Caddy repop lenses without any real lights. The paint will be rattle canned but that's all I've ever used so it should look half way decent.
