I've got my older Delta Unisaw up for sale--and that meant digging into the box of project parts to figure out what goes with the saw.
(I had it set up with a smaller fence and extension, so I could still walk in my garage.)

It does look like it may be part of a blade guard???SAM_4160.JPG

Of course there is one piece in the box that rings no bells, and that I can't find in the (bad) photographs from Delta.

Anyone recognize this bit?SAM_4161.JPG

It is a dust shute / deflector. Bolts to the tilting bracket behind the blade to let the dust drop straight down.

looks like the sawdust deflector that mounts vertically inside the saw between the blade and you crotch would be the best way to describe it. The indented section is relieved for the blade elevation screw

Thanks for the suggestions--I'll recheck the manual to see if I can see it--there is some possibility it is not from the Unisaw but a different saw.

Corrected once the coffee kicked in--I re-checked--and --I found it on the exploded parts diagram for the Unisaw--part number 134, vertical mount, back of the saw blade as has been suggested 'older models only' is the notation.

Not sure if I removed it, or it was out when I got the saw...
