of electric service to our house. The utility traced it to a cable failure in conduit under the driveway. They dug up both sides and pulled a new cable. Apparently during installation 23 years ago the sheath caught on something when it was pulled and got cut and scraped away from the conductors. Corrosion finally won. They pulled a new cable and all is well. Interesting failure, I expected a cable failure due to tree roots.

Find the contractor that did the work and bang his wife. Oh, wait, 23 years... um, maybe he was in his early 20's when he did this job.

Had a tree scraping wire from service pole. One leg dropping.

My free harbor freight meter figured it out. :)

Power company came to house. Everything worked. Rubbing start on tree and it dropped out. All I had at house was the hf meter.
