I picked up both stubby sets a few days ago. Still debating the 1/4 drive ratchet set. I know $9.98 is dirt cheap but I was not thrilled with how wobbly the sockets are when seated.

The one thing I'm noticing after buying a couple Kobalt sets is that the expandability is very slim. There are very limited selections of anything other than your basic wrench... i.e. no torque wrench, I don't believe I even saw a breaker bar but I must be wrong, no swivel sockets (Which I needed right away, of course.), etc.

Keep that in mind before you make a somewhat significant investment or settle on Kobalt. I really like the tools, and the sale prices are good, just need more selection.

Also, keep in mind we have no idea what they will do with the line down the road. I like the Taiwan tools, but I also would have been pissed if I specifically bought the US versions and then they started warrantying them with Taiwan-made. If the Taiwan tools get swapped out for a cheap China replacement, I'll be pissed. :p

Our Lowes has Kobalt breaker bars (hugely overpriced IMO) and torque wrenches, well, one torque wrench actually. The torque wrenches look like the Autocraft ones that Advance Auto sells.
