Loud environment communication (headphones?)

I’m looking for some Bluetooth communication devices for loud environments.

I bought some helmet Bluetooth communication devices for my wife & I to use while riding our motorcycles and it really transformed our enjoyment of the experience. She was a new rider and very timid/nervous. Being able to communicate as we were riding vs. yelling through helmets and saying “whaaat?” At each intersection really helped her to relax and enjoy the ride.

This got me wanting something similar for when we are working around our land on equipment (tractor & bobcat) would be really helpful.

I’ve started looking at what are basically like earmuff style headphones but with Bluetooth communication integrated. Seems like they are used/marketed towards industrial plants, airport personnel etc.

I was just hoping someone here might be in one of those industries and would have some guidance on best units.

My needs are for 2 units to communicate with each other, and distance probably won’t exceed a hundred yards or so (I was amazed at how far the moto communicators work.... and I’m sure our range wouldn’t exceed that while on equipment)

Anyone have any input?

Thanks in advance.

A few of the tree guys I know use SENA. I can't comment on them personally since I don't use them myself.....but it'll at least give you a starting point. They seem happy with them.

If it is loud where you work....go with noise canceling headphones. Not only can you hear the music better, it will also shut out the noise for when you want 'quiet'.

Coworker has Bose....I think he paid $300...but they are nice. A lot more comfortable than my $45 pair

It’s not Bluetooth you want. You want a two-way radio. Some of the small Motorola’s you mentioned like the talk about won’t require an FCC license. For the headphones, I love the David Clark models. They have about every connection you could want. They have a voice activated speaker option but for loud environments I prefer to turn that off and use a PTT

Yes that’s what we use for motorcycles. I’m looking for something to use on a tractor/Bobcat w/o helmet.

Thanks!
