Since my Milton went on the Fritz, I been chompin at the bit for a new one.
Found the least expensive on tooltopia, a website tool store.
I printed up my order along with my wish list and took it to my Do It Best Hardware store to order...they matched the price and no shipping charge!!! NICE!!!

So, now I want to get a rebuild kit for my old Milton, anyone got a part number and a video on how to rebuild it????
I did see this thread ... http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...on+rebuild+kit

Anyway, the reason I posted this up is that I want to give you all a little food for thought, helping your local store and helping yourself is the best option. In the future, I will have a local hardware store to go in a pinch and I am supporting my local economy, not some smuck 3 miles from North Korea!

That was very cool of them. But more importantly I jumped in for the info on a rebuild kit if they exist. My Milton took a dump last year and I just can't bring myself to **** canning it. But I also have to keep an eye out if someone else is wrenching in the shop that they don't rely on that pressure gauge.

My experience is that the local guy will most generally match the on line vendors, if they have the item. I like to keep my purchases local.

The local ACE matches on line guys, we also have a local lumber yard will match the big box stores. And they out service them

Is this price matching doing a favor to the local store?

Seems to me if they by chain policy or whatever price match below their cost or near it, they make no profit.

I just received mine yesterday in the mail. Bought it for $34 from Amazon. How much was yours?
