Hello everyone,

I am fairly new here and just recently moved into my first home which happened to have a small building out back. Here are some pics of when I first moved in. Not the greatest pics but I will post up some better ones since I have been doing work on it. This was before I even moved into the house so everything in here was left by the previous owner. I am attempting to make it into a Hunting Cave/small shop.

The previous owner mainly used it for storage but said that the owner before that used it as a woodworking shop and had cabinets and stuff built in but they threw all that stuff out:headscrat. I'm not sure why the fireplace was installed but we did get the chance to use it some since I moved in right before the winter.

So far I have painted it a hunting friendly color. Not really the best for lighting but It makes you feel like you are in a hunting cabin far away from home while still in the back yard. I have added shelving and just a few weeks ago added a pegboard and built a workbench. I will try to post some more pics tomorrow or Wednesday depending on how much schoolwork I have.

Here is a pic I just found right after I painted while I was still cleaning it out.

That place is GREAT! All it needs is some guns on the wall and a bear rug complete with paws and head on the floor! Oh and a lazy boy!

Is this in addition to a normal car garage/shop on the property? I would love to have an extra building in my back yard, oh the potential! keep up the good work, digging the color! can't wait for more pictures!

There is no normal car garage/shop on the property. However, my grandfather lives about 5 min away and he has a well stocked shop to work on vehicles and stuff. I have enough tools and space to take on small jobs here but if I need a lot of space or more tools I head his way.

Nice start! I didn't realize that your hunting cabin was going to have a pine forest INSIDE ... usually the forest is outside!! If you plan to hunt in there ... watch out for the ricochets ... Ya wouldn't want to put a bullet through the beer frig!

Nice space! It's plenty big enough to do some really cool things to. A little imagineering and you can do a lot without spending a bunch of cash. Good luck. Keep us posted.

Here is how the barn looked today when I walked in.

IMG_1662.jpg

I added a rod rack to the ceiling to get the rods out of the way

added a top shelf along this wall for storing stuff. I still need to run the stereo power cord behind the shelf but don't have a jig saw to notch the hole.

I built this workbench and put the pegboard up for storage. I used a Bosch rotary hammer I borrowed from my uncle and it cut through that concrete like butter.

I love collecting power and hand tools but these tools are my passion.

Here is the back lean-to area. I am planning on hanging the small boat from the ceiling once I figure out how I want to do it.

It's an 1860G3. That is my next big project is to sand it down and paint it. Waiting for Summer classes to end first.

Here is the current project. Going for a two tone paint scheme. The outer hull, inside rail and console will be the same color and the top rail and deck will be the same color. Also the rub rail is brown and looks sick between the green and tan.
