Low profile fixtures

I have a small 3 car garage with 10'-6" ceilings, currently only lit by two 100W equivalent LED E26 bulbs. I also only have one outlet in the garage (plus one on the ceiling for the opener), but that is a story for a different day. I can't believe someone insulated, sheetrocked, taped and painted this garage (and textured the ceiling)...but didn't bother to install more outlets.

I need more light, but I'm also planning on buying a 4 post lift...so every inch counts. I know I will need to get strategic with my placement, but I need the most low profile fixture possible...preferably without going the recessed route.

Any suggestions? I would prefer LED.

I would try to avoid the "roof area" of your vehicles where the clearance is going to be tight and just install normal fixtures to compensate. In other words, place them where the hood and trunk/bed are located. Then you don't need the most low profile fixture.

Also wouldn't hurt to have some "under" lights to be able to get some light going upwards.

To avoid problems, I would wire in a set of switched outlets on the ceiling (can be in octagon or square boxes) and then you have flexibility within the limitations of a short cord and male plug.

Thin fixtures are all the rage right now in LED lighting. There are dozens of products out there that you'll like.
"Flat Panels" are the thinnest and they come in tons of different sizes, including the traditional 2x2 and 2x4, but you can also find them in round, square and even some odd shapes. There are many ways to hang these, too.
Super thin surface mount fixtures are also popular. Google Philips SlimSurface and you'll see what I mean.
