I'm putting some low profile led lights as a secondary light source in my modern studio build (link) and wanted to ask how I should go about wiring them up to pass a rough electrical inspection.

They obviously need drywall to be installed. So do I just leave wires hanging in the place I want them to be? Things have been going at breakneck speed on this project and I seriously need to update my build thread but I've been having fun working my *** off on the build. I've ordered six 2X4 edgelit LED panels as the main lights from lightup.com and am supplementing that with 12-16 low profile led's something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JKZ5858/?tag=atomicindus08-20

I wont speak to what your local inspector wants to see because it varies from place to place, but for the wafer lights, you can install the driver and attach it to something and then leave to cord for the light dangling through the hole. For the flat panels, leave a coiled up end of wire where the panel will go.

my concern would be if the 120v to lower led driver box (they call it jbox) is UL listed or only CE marked. I do not think the inspector would sign off on the transformer being hidden in the box or behind drywall (or your insurance provider) unless its legit specd for that. I think the inspector would sign off on ceiling boxes without the lights yet connected... but i do not think that jbox fits in a 4" steel ceiling box later. Light cans like this https://www.fruitridgetools.com/bui...-can-light-housing-w-thermoplastic-frame-lc6/ may offer the comprimise to get passed by inspector and allow you space to use a china led driver..,,
