Hi all I'm posting for my dad who is looking for a way to use part of his attached garage as a finishing area without letting any fumes get into the house. He is not in the market for a "real" spray booth, we were thinking of partitioning off a small area, using a door with a good seal and a basic extract fan for some negative pressure. Perhaps others have ideas or products to share that may help? He uses a variety of sprayed and brushed finishes for wood and metal furniture. Not a pro, just a hobbiest.

another tenant in a commercial warehouse space that I am frequently at with a volunteer group I'm involved with has one of those blow up paint booths for touching up cars for resale. they are higher end cars , I imagine they are getting very decent results with it

I made this simple and very effective small paint booth. I used a free cardboard appliance carton and fitted a range hood in the lower back. The overspray is double filtered before the air is vented outside. I used a body shop folding fender holder and a section of welded wire grid for the table.
