Her is what I'm working with

12 pins, im certain this is the "male" connector with a "female" corresponding part that slides over this one and is held in place by the small squeeze tab just above my finger.

This is as close as I can get to the plug without extensive disassembly. I don't want to get hung up on what this is installed in but since it will come up, this is a Case 580m backhoe.

I'm pretty handy with the google machine and I have asked all local possible sources. Big box stores, small hardware stores, Platt, Graybar and auto parts stores. Most just give me the shoulder shrug and a puzzled or dismissive look.

I have done some searching for Case parts but small items such as this aren't that easy or as well documented as major or proprietary parts.

My last two local options are, Frys Electronics and pick-n-pull yards.

It is close to a molex connector but not quite.

Any ideas? I only need one. Maybe even just the trade name of this style connector?

Thanks all.

I'll try for better pics and a profile view but it most certainly has 12 pins. I traced continuity and voltage on the legs already. 8 pins are in use.

I've been looking into molex and other atx connectors as the form factor is very close. Most of the molex connectors have the outer top edges angled at a 45 in, hexagon? Also, the pins themselves are a male/female cylinder configuration.

I have a friend with case service manuals however it's difficult for me to get access to them and he cannot simply dig through them for me while he's working. My last resort will be to call the local dealer. They are known to be less than helpful if youre not dropping some cash. Wiring and part numbers aren't as easy to dig up on the Web.

Would this be for the radio?

It seems to be a 13-pin Yazaki connector.

You could buy that adapter for $15 and cut off the connectors not needed and splice your own in.

I'm going to do some digging in the case manuals on or near the radio harness and see if I can find a specific part number. If I have to I'll order a few and see what works.

Update to this connector,

As it turns out, the case / John deere part noted above is discontinued. With some digging I found this

image033.jpg

I found the part noted online at many sites, but almost all of them looked identical, web store front in box if you will. Case and John Deere both, each site would take me to the same checkout page from seemingly the same factory supplier. So, I called, a few of the "vendors", all Deere dealers in the south east with a Web Store. Most although they had the part online confirmed they did not have it in stock.

Then I did find it at an online Deere dealer, however shipping UPS ground quotes ranged $20 to $75. I called one Georgia dealer who did not have it but emailed me a list of dealers who did. I started calling each. Still, shipping was cost prohibitive for a 3oz part that should cost no more than $5 for a Usps flat rate envelope, even cheaper for priority mail.

Then I found, this. It appears to be the manufacturer of the pigtail and part number 31100104 supercedes SW1121875. Called ASA (Jensen heavy duty) they had it in Stock, $16 free shipping.

Deal
