I am using an HTP phoenix Light duty (modulating and condensing DWH) as a boiler for my Radiant in floor heat and to heat an indirect water heater for domestic hot water.

The HTP has no boiler control inputs per say, is maintains its own temp, even has an Out door reset sensor, but is not an issue as it has high mass (60 gallons) and is 70K btu high fire and I have a design load of 25K. Its controls are powered by 120 volt and manual states 8 amps but 2 amps are for a condensate pump which I will not use.

I am terrified of leaving an automatic fill valve on permanently due to flooding concerns.

I would like to install a low water cut off. There are some 120V such as a taco LTA120 but they are limited to 2.3 amps.

Any others that could handle 6 amps?

Never mind. Some reason I was hung up with shitting down the water heater when after more thought I realize the pump controller would be more suitable in load and in importance. After all if a pipe burst and the pumps are shut off then the water heater will stay full.

The only way the water heater will empty without help from the pumps is if the stainless tank fails some how.

Any preferences for taco vs McDonnell & Miller vs hydrolevel?
