both those above wrench sets were clearanced out at $8 a few years ago at a store here. I needed to tighten a spline bolt so I got both sets. Still don't remember which size I needed but a socket was a no go. Haven't used them since.

Re: the 5pc reciprofit set...a guy at work just told me the adapter is interchangeable with the "reciprotools" brand at home depot and menard's. Guess I'll pick one up after all.

It's a 5/16" hex shank I think. It might be a slightly different size. I know it's bigger than the standard 1/4" hex on an impact driver. I think 5/16" is right though cause that's the size of the Senco screwguns.

Lucked out today and happened upon one of the 3/8 - 1/2 Jacobs chucks while browsing. Store showed no stock when I was looking before, but this was obviously a return (package was mangled.) They wanted $18.**, but matched the $9.98 I paid at another Lowes two weeks ago. Now if I could just find another one of those darn carts! Super jealous of your $13.79 score rp, hope it's actually there!

I did see all Hitachi batteries were marked down, $10-20 off normal price. Markdown was proportional to original price, probably a certain % applied across the board.

Just ordered one of the Kobalt carts for $13.79, we'll see when I go to pick it up today or tomorrow....

Received a phone call about it being damaged and missing a key, told them I'd take it anyway. On pick-up it was partially assembled, no damage (some lights scuffs) but also no key and the lid is locked. They "have one ordered" and said they would mail it to me, but I don't have high hopes - any ideas on where to get a key?

Look at the lock, more than likely there is a code on it that any locksmith can cut you one from. I had this done for a 67 Chevy I inherited but couldn't find the keys for. I took one lock cylinder out of the door so I could get the code, and wrote down the 4 digit code off the face of the lock for the camper shell on the back. About $10 at the locksmith and both keys work fantastic...found the original keys about a year later, with the original leather fob from the dealership where my great grandfather bought the truck in 67

Here is an example of what I'm talking about:

If the cylinder has numbers like that on the face it should take no time at all for a locksmith to make a key.

$56 for one near me. I'd definitely get one just to organize all the coolers I have for the $26

Sent from my SCH-R530U using Tapatalk

Only one near my...$58...At the same store that botched my work cart order...no thanks. For $26 I'd chance it.

:mad:I ordered the tool cart online for $36 to pick up at the garden city location and within 5 min I got a phone call cancelling the order. This ***** why put it on line if you don't have it? :dunno::dunno:But at least I did not have to waste a trip.

Because after they saw how cheap it was, they cancelled your order to buy it themselves.

Call customer service 1-800-77LOWES

Let them know you did not get a key, usually have it in 3-5 days
Wouldn't count on the store to be able to get one

Maybe not all the time but I think it happens occasionally

I can tell you that it definitely happens. I'm guilty of doing it myself, used to work at Advance, we had a full nitrous kit that had been on the shelf for years for like $499, of course no one ever bought it.

I happened to be there when an online order came in for it, and it was marked down to $199, needless to say "I couldn't find it"

Uh no.

Do you guys seriously think this is what happens?

I bet you it happens. Lowes online system makes it too easy for the store to cancel the purchase and the only accountability is by the one person pulling the order. "Joe, don't have any of those in stock, cancel that order", adjusts inventory, buys it later that day. I know inventory gets adjusted because they have mentioned they have negative inventory numbers on items I inquire about. You dont adjust inventory to a negative number, system does that when its purchased after adjustment.

This. It certainly wasn't hard for them to sell a cart that I had already bought and paid for and was on my way to pick up. Sold it right there at the customer service desk WITH MY NAME AND INVOICE TAPED TO IT.

My brother in law is a Lowe's store manager and as he worked up through the company, he said it was a common thing for this to happen. I guess if you are making close to minimum wage at Lowe's, that is one of the perks...? That's just part of the reason why I shop at HD more than Lowe's.

Lowe's employees also get free used appliances all the time. When a customer comes in and buys a new washer/dryer and has the "old" ones hauled away... guess where those old ones go. In nice areas, many of those "old" ones are in REALLY good condition. They don't keep inventory of the haul-aways, so drivers can take them wherever they would like.

And...? What's a better option? Sending working appliances to scrap, or worse yet the landfill? One man's trash...

Definitely not policy. I bet if the right person in management caught them, they would be losing their job. It's similar to having an employer that will not allow you to take cash tips. Does it make much sense, I can't see how, but it is a policy.
