Are they really that useful? Seems like its just a looks good on paper item

The JawHorse can be a helpful assistant when working alone. Clamping strength is strong and the stand is sturdy. However it can be somewhat bulky and heavy to move around in tight quarters. Sometimes its just easier to use a regular horse and quick clamp rather than setting it up for a simple task. Picked one up during a recent home remodeling job and now that thats completed mine is folded up in a box probably to collect dust for a while. Got something to clamp securely for grinding or welding it could be the ticket and at $40ish I would grab one if I didn't already have one but definitely not two.

In case anyone wants to try and get their local store to price match...

Nice find if you can get it! This cart may not be the best but its the best for under $50. Hard to believe it retailed for $199 originally. Drawers rolled smoothly, top lock is separate from the drawers, fold-away side extensions work and the bottom can store a lot of bulky items like anti-freeze, windshield fluids, oil, etc. The Kobalt blue looks great and it only needs better castors.

Anyone get gift cards from Giant Eagle for Lowes to get the fuel perks and notice that Giant Eagle doesn't carry Lowe's Gift cards anymore? Not happy about this...

Hello Jeff,

Thank you for contacting Giant Eagle regarding our popular Retailer Gift Card program.

At the request of Lowe's, Lowe's gift cards are no longer being sold at Giant Eagle. Any further questions regarding the decision can be directed to Lowe's Customer Service department at 1-800-445-6937.

Thank you,
Giant Eagle Customer Care

Picked up two carts last night for $32.44 each plus I did the $10 off $50 code online so I got both for $57.71 OTD (6% tax) SUPER DEAL! I've noticed that certain stores in my area are reliable with their inventory and others are not. . One store in particular is always wrong on inventory. I ordered 5 of the trouble lights for .79 each when online inventory stated they had 27 in stock. Got a call saying their inventory was way off. Well I'm giving the employees the benefit of the doubt, but it is ironic that one store always cancels my order.

My guess is that the trouble lights might be somewhere in the store, but no one knows where -- and the employees aren't going to search for them. Sooner or later they will be found and then they will go on sale again.

I'm saying this because a few months back I had ordered some hatchets that showed on the site and when I went to pick them up the employee said he didn't even have a spot on the shelf for them and didn't think they had any in the store. He had some others help to find them, but it finally took them getting the store manager to send a bunch of other guys looking for them. They were eventually discovered "somewhere." Is this unusual? Maybe... maybe not.

Also, yesterday I encountered another store manager that I have talked with before, who was looking around at a shelf of tools. I jokingly asked if he was trying to decide what to put on sale. He replied: "No, a customer is returning an item and I don't have anywhere on the shelf to put it, so I'm trying to find the space." Maybe there won't be enough extra space. Where do they "hide" it then? That is probably one of the reasons why there are some items that can't be found when they are shown in inventory.:headscrat

.... It just occurred to me that I'm beginning to know way too much about Lowes. That may be a bad sign.

Best price I found for the mobile cart in Eastern ma and RI is $64.00 in north Providence. Was there yesterday and picked up a Kobalt spark plug set for $11.97, but I had to find them myself in outdoor power equipment on a end cp.

The Abington, MA store (#2785) is showing the Ingersoll Rand Model 1770G 1/2-in Air Ratchet Wrench (#182464) for $10.80 in case anyone is interested in getting a price match. I got three for $12.60 locally.

I only managed to get the Kobalt 39-in 2-Drawer Utility Cart (#460636) for $35.80. I don't think they're going to get much cheaper around these parts.

I'm still waiting for the Rockwell Jawhorse (#109233) to reach the $39.75 mark...

can you get me the dimensions on those boxes? I ordered ... uhhmmm... "several" for pickup on Sunday. It's not gonna be pretty. I guess I won't be taking the smart car.

No problem! 33"Lx15"x15"

They aren't small and not light either. But the boxes have nice handles with plastic around the edges.

I called the Lowes # twice. They had no explanation. Just that they had a lot of calls about it. I told them I would not be shopping there until they had gift cards at Giant Eagle again or could explain why. I left my name and #. I heard over the weekend that Giant Eagle gets the cards to sell at a discount and Lowes is losing to much money. Seems a bit fishy...

The manager working today (ive never seen her there before) refused to match. I told her I had done it before there and she still refused. The cart was marked 79.99, I left it there.

Yep, this is exactly how the gift card business works.

Giant Eagle buys cards at a discount, so GE makes a little money (and then gives some back to the customer in fuelperks). For Lowe's, this is revenue earned without selling or inventorying a single item in store. I'm sure people lose and forget about cards too and never report it, and that's like free money for them.

Anyways, Lowe's thinks they can make more money by not giving that x% to Giant Eagle as a "referral" bonus, and thus have stopped selling them.

I may or may not work for one of the above or similar companies.

There's three Kobalt 39-in 2-Drawer Utility Carts (#460636) available in Augusta, ME (#2265) for $16.11 plus sales tax. Normally I'd be all over this deal, but it's a long drive & I'm out on disability. Somebody go and get 'em!

I visited my local store looking for the IR close out deals and I could not find any IR tools at all. Only air tools were Kobalt brand. Guess I'm a day late.

The carts are currently $32.22 at a store about 25 miles away. The price has been dropping anywhere form 10%-50% every 2 days since middle of last week. Tomorrow it should drop again and then I'll buy both that are in stock.

The code generator still works, you just have to try several. I tried 8 before I found a good one. Code said "HOA Moving Discount" when it was accepted on the Lowes site.
