Eh just ordered one for store pickup... better than nothing I guess.. i'll just keep it in the trunk by the spare tire.

Usually spare tires are flat anyway by the time you go to use it.

After alot of trying, I got that code to work. I was hoping to find a code for something like $50 off $250 or something along those lines. Planned on buying a dishwasher.

$50 off $250
47000RRRRR4691R exp 5/26/15

Here you go, expires today. Just tested and it works. I'm looking at a new range and microwave, and this is the best coupon for the microwave.

just picked up the jawhorse for $39.38 after the $15 off $50 promo code. Closest store at this price was 30 miles away and I bought the last one.

Slime 50 psi inflator is $1.62. Item #323831. [\QUOTE]

Do these things actually work? I've always been sketchy about buying 12V car tire inflators, mainly because they look cheap as hell. Anyone used this thing?

I guess at $1.62, it's worth testing it. My store is showing around $4.50.

Inexpensive 12V inflators will be slow but for $4.50 or less it's cheap enough to keep in the trunk for emergencies. Much better than walking or manual pumping

I haven't tried one yet, packaging says it takes 14 minutes to fully inflate a passenger car tire. I expect a half hour for my truck tires. I keep an 18v Porter Cable in the truck with a battery (it also runs off the 12v outlet) and a foot pump just in case. For the price, the Slime inflators may be worth relegating to beach ball and float inflation duties, at least.

ordered a jawhorse for pickup at 37.25 in New Carrolton MD - now to see if it gets cancelled. Price jumped back up once i had ordered the last one.

Just letting you know that they may go down again this time like they did last year.

I've been noticing this with clearance itmes lately. Even if the item is still in stock it will drop to the lowest price then go back up and stay there. IT doesn't go back to full price but the price doesn't go super cheap either. ITs almost as though they know people are buying their stuff to resell it.

Many people don't go through the hassle of reselling.

I worked as a dept manager at Lowes for 7-1/2 years
Here's what happens

Original price was $100 for a door handset with deadbolt
find on clearance (say 50% off) Now $50

Then ask for an additional discount (MOD goes an additional 50%) Now $25
(some Lowes likes to blow out the clearance to make room for new stuff)
Customer buys last 4 on shelf total $100 ($108 with tax)for $400 worth of product

Once the last quantity is sold item goes to zero on hand.
Then after about a week or so (in most cases) price jumps back up to $66

Or better yet, Lowes across town has not dropped price yet, so customer drives to other Lowes, returns product for $100 ea.
That's $436 in store credit
So now after $108 investment they can buy a $400 gas grill which is really what they wanted to begin with

Never have figured out why they allow it.

Also When they have buy xxxx get xxxxx free
Current example
Buy Kreg jig kit for $129 and get $20 box of screws free
Instead of ringing up $109 for jig and $20 screws (still $129) they charge full price for 1 then 2nd one is free.
Then they return the jig and get initial investment back, and then return screws and get $20 on a gift card. (Most, but not all the cashiers are clueless)
So with a bit of work (hey thy are at Lowes any way) they can get things they want for free.

But the reality is that Lowes needs to be profitable
So those who are honest pay higher prices on the stuff they buy to cover the loss.
:scared::scared:
And the amount of shrink/theft is mind boggling
Some stores are $150k-$250k in shrink/theft per year, per store

Was in the paint section today, they had marked down various paint 'spirits', Acetone gal was down from 12 to 4.65. Quarts of turpentine 1.45, normally 6.60 (or something like that).
In the plumbing section they have garbage disposal refreshner .45, down from like 5 bucks. Lots of yellow tags with deep discounts in my store near toledo.

Lowes caught onto this long ago, and have since remedied the problem, or at least the ones in my area have.

I bought something stupid cheap on clearance at a store across town. I genuinely lost my receipt, and the item was clearly used and beat to hell so I just brought it back to my home store. The cashier rang it up to put on store credit and said "Wow, this must be on clearance somewhere" and gave me exactly what I paid for it at the other store, even though my home store had them at the regular price.

When you return something without a receipt they look for the lowest sale/clearance price its ever been, and give you that.

The Hinesville store still has a few of the Slime infiltrators at $1.62, and I bought the last tire tackle kit for $1.19. Also, for anyone who needs one, the Kreg Rip Cut is priced at $25 right now. Brunswick had a PC 18v circular saw and a radio on the clearance rack yesterday but both were marked at full price.

I lucked out and got a handful of the socket and wrench sets myself. Did the thought enter my head of trying to return one or two at another store? Yes. Did I, or will I, do so? No. Will I put one of each up for sale at some future time? Perhaps. Lowe's screwed up and a manager reluctantly filled my order, so in my mind trying to return those items for full price not only constitutes fraud but also violates all ethical boundaries.

That's how it should work w/o a receipt. That's also why you need to keep your receipt. To do it any other way is not a good way to run a business. I mean, just look at all the assholes here.

What's the deal with getting discounts on display models? My store has a Senco roofing nailer and Hitachi siding nailer still on display. Both out of stock and discontinued. I tried to get a deal on the roofing nailer a few weeks ago, but the tool associate won't go any lower than "their cost" of $160. Should I keep trying with different associates or is that generally as low as they will go?

Go to different associates or ask to speak to a manager. If management know an item is discontinued and they don't have anymore, they will sell it dirt cheap if they have someone standing in front of them willing to buy.

I don't know how it works in that store but a friend of mine is GM of one and said he can't go lower than their cost without answering to his boss for it. He told me that when he sold me a toolbox for $10 over cost when the lost the key. He has sold to myself and others for under cost but he says he will get an email asking why.

I've encountered both. Most of the time I've gotten and extra 10% off on display items sometimes they don't even have a box. Other times I've gotten great deals with out asking. I bought a Max Framing nailer a couple of weeks ago for ~$5 It was over $200 normally. I wis now I had bought the second one they had on the shelf

Some of the displays are "non-working displays"
All of the Senco displays are non-working displays)
If you buy it and it don't work don't be surprised

BUT the non-working display could have been stolen, then they could have replaced it with a working one from a box.

I have been offered the displays for half. Ask a mod. Thanks Ryan for cleaning.

Hmm no tags on it... I know I've seen tags like that on the display heat guns.

Probably the district manager calling that, or that's what they tell people to keep from giving deeper discounts.
As a dept manager I could go below cost. But would regularly tell customers I could only do 10%
I have regularly seen mangers go 75% below cost, just to get rid of things

They also will cull the whole clearance rack. In other words find a clearance rack, make an assessment and figure what you will pay for EVERTHING on the rack.
Find the MOD (depending on the attitude and where the numbers for the Month/year are they may or may not accept your offer)
Make an offer on EVERTHING. The more disorganized it looks the better your chances.

This is one I got
Had a table in front of tools/hardware that had hundreds and hundreds of packages of brackets(Lbrackets ect) it also had a broken 14" band saw, 3 jig saws a miter saw and a bunch of other **** that nobody really wanted
Everything had already been marked down by 50% or more.( except the miter saw and band saw)
I told the MOD I will give you $125 for everything. He told me " the band saw is $400 by it self" I told him, yea but it's broke. He said let me call Rosco (store manager)
About a half hour later he said SOLD
To help keep inventory correct, Everything had to be scanned to remove it from the system. It all rang up at $3033.00 and that was after the discounts that had already been taken off. I paid $125 plus tax.
I sold the band saw and miter saw to a friend for $125.
I still have hundreds of brackets and mis hardware in my garage

FYI - all the stores around me (southwest CT) have some of the LeGrande Adorne switches and wallplates on clearance.

Each store seems to have different things from that product line on clearance, but examples:

HDMI keystone insert
Portable nightlight insert
Softouch Russet wallplate (3 and 4 gang)
etc

Just a tip: I was just in my local Home Depot, and that Brad nailer/roofing nailer combo was on sale for for 100 off original price...That was yesterday....
