How did you know it was less than the list price and price on the tag?

Hitachi 18v tools marked down. Decent prices if you already have a few tools in the set

Kneeman..Thank you for answering on my behalf.
Go to Lowes.com/choose an item, for instance faucets, drills,or
manufacturers, whirlpool, dewalt etc. Choose low to high, follow the list and look for an item that POPS!! When you see that item that is really reduced, check surrounding stores and you'll see that price fluctuate .
I found this by searching "heaters".

Thank you! The price online at my store shows $149 so I was just wondering if it would be different at the register...from your post I would say no. Thanks again

Ive seen cases where the price online does NOT match the price in store. There is an electric instant water heater thats full price on the web but massively clearanced in my store.

So, just like at HD, the best way to be sure is actually go there and check. I might look for the heater myself....would work great in my garage (now that I finally have natural gas!)

I found a couple sets of the Irwin 2 piece spark plug thread chasers on clearance for $5 each. They normally sell for around $25 if I recall the original tag price correctly. Amazon has them for $23.95. The SKU is 586527.

How did you find out that it's a flat rate envelope rather than a flat rate box?

Does the seller have good feedback?

BOSCH DDB181 18V 18 Volt Li-Ion 1/2" Compact Drill Driver 2 Speed New w/ Clip

Item price $37.00
Quantity 1
Item number 331712318376
Shipping service USPS Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate Envelope

They have 99.7% with over 70,000 ratings.. so I'm sure it will be ok.. but still.. That's piss-poor service to save a few bucks if it does in fact come in a padded envelope. It was "free shipping" and didn't give any options. Since it looks like they paid for shipping through eBay and selected padded flat rate envelope, I'll have to assume that's what they're using

What I do sometimes is use a padded flat rate envelope but create a small cardboard box inside of it. Cheap, safe, and effective. Not sure if there is enough room to do that with the drill though. Maybe!

you aren't supposed to ship lithium batteries usps anyway. if anything gets damaged they're on the hook pretty big for that alone.

Was in my Lowes this afternoon and they have several 100amp and 125amp breaker panels on clearance, Eaton & GE. They were like half price, $40 breaker panels for $20 or so. They had 4 or 5 different types & sizes at the Toledo location

You can. There's all kinds of requirements and restrictions. The battery has to be installed in the tool. Box must have a Lithium Battery warning label (print it from Google). I just shipped 2 Hitachi kits recently and looked very closely at the USPS requirements

It's not that I don't believe you, just going by what the guy at the post office told me while I was shipping my tablet to be RMA'd.

I wonder why it has to be installed in the tool? I'd assume that refers more to non-removable batteries or batteries going with something than just a battery on its own. But what do I know.

They just have to go by ground, not air. USPS Parcel Select works. No Priority, no Express.

cool. well they let my tablet go priority even though we had that discussion. it was an odd situation throughout but the impression i got was nonremovable batteries were all they were supposed to care about.

I stopped by Lowes this afternoon and I was surprised by the amount of Stanley tools they are now stocking.

And Fleet Farm switched their Allen (USA) to Dewalt now. Also Taiwan, stamping quality looks like a bit worse than the Pro-Grade right down the isle. I have a bunch of Pro-Grade fillers, they're about the same as Kobalt.

Tool isles are getting less interesting...
