You know they do it all the time. Ho many times has someone here bought something online only to get a call later saying its not in stock. When I go in to buy something that has an online inventory of 5 there usually is 5 items there. YMMV
Your mileage may vary?

Inventory levels are frequently off from actual, causing many problems like that. Always best to hunt around in the store if you can.

Picked up the charger today. They matched the price when I showed them the pic.it was not even on the shelf, it was in the overhead stock collecting dust.

Down by window screen material, Trailer hardware, straps, and safes at my lowes

Ask at the service desk for a particular item, particularly if you have a SKU number (which is why it is important to include it in your posts). They can then look up their store's stock location and give you an aisle number and position. However, sometimes larger items are "orphaned" and then it becomes a treasure hunt. I have found some Kobalt tools in places other than the tool section.

Yes! I have found clearance tools in with lightbulbs or in a back aisle by all the moldings. You really need to hunt around sometimes

If you look at top of this photo, each shelf at Lowe's has a location tag. Service desk can look up by SKU and tell you where the item "should" be found. Sometimes cuts the search time, but the hunt is half the fun!

Or you can pull it up on your phone at lowes.com and it tells you where to look.

2 piece 6-outlet power strip. $3.97

It's green, and not a surge protector, but for $2 a pop a steal IMO

congrats!

Since most of us know you as the guy that works at lowes, what else is up with you?

uploadfromtaptalk1420677545749.jpg
i hate tapatalk i hope this works.

Thanks....... Been wanting to do this for a while.

I have had 2 full time jobs for the past 7-1/2 years.
My wife quit teaching school and we needed health care. I went to lowes for the health insurance benefits. This was supposed to be for 1 year:lol_hitti

The extra income was a bonus and allowed us to do things we might not have had the opportunity to do otherwise. (Disneyland and other vacations, new truck for me, new Durango for my wife ect. Plus I have acquired quite a few (8) International Scouts to fix up. And my tool repituar has grown exponentially because of the killer deals I was able to get.
Thing is I never had time to use the tools or work on the scouts.

Because I worked less than a mile from the store it allowed me to be home at night for dinner, and be at most all of my kids sporting events and also coach my son in Little league. Plus be on the Board of directors with our local little league. I have spent many extened lunch hours at baseball practice , then go back to work till 11pm

About to be 54 and the hours were starting to get to me.

My "REAL" job is I sell fasteners chemicals ect for a company I have a franchise with. So I am going to start concentrating on new business instead of killing myself with lowes.

I found the same thing a few years ago. The money isn't worth it sometimes. Don't burn your bridges. You never know when you may want to pick up some Christmas money. I went down to one day a week for about 15 years now at my 2nd job. It's nice to only work when you want to. Then whenever you need money or they need help pick up a few hours.

Thanks for the tips. I'm sure you will still find out about some before the rest of us.

Went to the closest Lowes tonight, no jack or chargers to be found, did pick up the Dremel-type bit set for $15.99, though.

Found the gearless 3/8" ratchet/spline socket set there, but it was $15 instead of the $10 posted here or on the other thread. They had a bunch of them, and the gal behind the counter said they won't honor other store's sale prices because each store is at liberty to mark clearance stuff down to whatever they want so I held off.

Sure wish I would've found one of those battery chargers... :(

I happened upon a Lowes that had two of the Gladiator Mega kits, which was 149.99 black friday 2013. I grabbed one and returned the deluxe kit. The cashier rang it up and it was down to 111.00 so I ran back up the aisle and grabbed the other one. The 25% off sale (ends 1-12-15) applies to this kit too apparently. This Lowes is the only one in the area which stocks Gladiator stuff other than tracks and few hooks. I found stickers on each box for stores in NH, I'm in Maine. Apparently left overs from BF 2013. They didn't show up on online as being sold by Lowes any longer. Lowes # is 435038. Just a heads up if you happen to spot one.

Home Depot currently has 30% off. They usually don't carry it in my store but they do have free ship to store. Sears is also currently having a sale on a lot of stuff. depending on what you want depends on where to buy it. The 30 inch self is cheaper at sears but the 4 foot gear track is cheaper at Lowe's.

...and the deals have dried up in Coastal GA. Still some of the aforementioned small chargers for $4.36, but otherwise the same minor price adjustments mentioned in this thread (Direct Drive sets for $15, etc). Hinesville has a small selection of lights and other Christmas stuff for 75% off. Online, the Kobalt torpedo level was priced at $6 and a Bosch tripod was $17 yesterday, but I saw neither on the shelf and didn't care enough to inquire about them.

Picked up some 10" polishing bonnets for a buffer for $0.28/2-pack. Not an amazing deal, but worth snagging if you walk by it.

I also picked up a 37"-90" Tilt TV wall mount that was knocked down $20. For $48, it was a good buy I think. [I have a 60" and may go to an 80". Mounts that will hold larger sizes go up in price pretty quickly]

I think my Lowe's has a new manager. No clearanced holiday tools, and lots of yellow price tags with less than $1 off.

I was just in the local one and thought those clearance tags with less that 10% off were funny. If anyone needs one the Wiss notcher still was there at $6. Champaign IL.

The Lowes nearby my area have been doing that for months now, and it's not because of a new manager here. It is strange. Up and down every aisle you see "clearance" tags but the price is only a little lower on the item. More like a price markdown than clearance. They know a lot of bargain seekers are attracted to the tags now, since in the past they were really clearance items. That little trick will wear off soon and then they will move on their next new corporate gimmick.

Yep.............. what really gets me is "new low price". It was 24, now its 9.99. Usually on exact product. These big reductions are done all the time and it makes me feel foolish for buying at lowes when I see this. They can drop the price that much.....they are making a killing off of you.

They have this same unit at my lowes assembled for $89 instead of $99. I need a router and table, but was not sure about the quality.

That router set has awful reviews.

Regardless, one store had it on clearance at $89 down from $99. It was the last one/floor model.

I offered the manager $50 but he said the lowest he could do was $75. It did not come home with me.

At my local Lowe's they had the floor model of the router and table for $69, they said the lowest they could go was $59. Decided to pass because it was missing too many parts from both the router and the table.

Had a chance to play with it some. Seems to be a decent setup for what I paid. Wouldn't have paid $90-100, but for $55 it's worth it.

Picked up the 15pc. Router bit set from Harbor Freight and have run a variety of wood through it. Table is wood, and legs/fence are plastic. Router seems to work fine with no major bogging. Just don't try to make really deep cuts in one pass. Not a heavy duty set up by any means but will work well for smaller projects, edge rounding, etc.
