Stanley PC809 800-watt inverter, $17.10 w/tax in Greenwood, SC. Originally $80. The only one they had, and they didn't know they had it. Their inventory went to -1 with the sale to me.

Don't know when I might need it but couldn't walk away from it.

Picked up one a few hours ago. $130 then took off 10% discount code that is a few pages back. Still a good deal.

You can use this.

10%
47000RRRRR3558R
exp- 01/15/15

Replace each "R" in the code above with a random number (the code is all numeric). Usually takes a few tries to get a code to work.

awesome thanks! got it to work the second try

PC 2-piece 12v Max Li-Ion combo for $35.82. Picked up the display from Americus, GA yesterday; the shelf reflected the lower price but the display still showed $129. No bag, but a helpful employee found the charger and both batteries--was able to charge both in about 30 minutes with the Stanley 100w plug-in inverter I got last month for "only" 30% off.

Lowes shows the original price at $199. I think I have little more than that invested in all of my PC cordless tools, both 18v and 12v. Paid $63 for the 18v impact/drill/light combo three years ago; regular price of $40 for the reciprocating saw and $10 for the battery life indicator shortly after (found two saws at $12 each last year but passed them up and the indicator is a whole $1.20 now); $50 for a vacuum and circular saw in 2013; and most recently $23 for a third battery a fee months ago. Passed up a grinder that was still marked at $30 around Christmas.

Heading back to the store in a little while. Most of the remaining clearance deals match those found from Savannah to Richmond. This is the store where I found Ideal Crimpmasters for $5.90 a few months back, but the few Ideal tools left have regular clearance prices (Stripmaster for $16.23, etc).

Correction to the above post. Display was marked $159.20. Guess that explains why it was still there.

The manager may pay lip service to the whiny customer, but there's little chance that the employee is going to be punished. In fact, they'll probably laugh together about what a douche the customer was after he leaves. And this is such a small thing to make a scene over. It's very possible that the item was left there unintentionally for any number of reasons. Maybe an employee was checking a price for someone or looking up some bit of info on the item to answer a question, maybe it was a return that was set there to be reshelved during downtime, maybe a customer called and said they were on their way to come purchase it and it was pulled from the shelf, maybe it was misplaced in a different department and another employee brought it over but didn't know where it went. I'm not saying employees never stash things, or that it is right or wrong when they do, but if they were trying to hide it they probably wouldn't leave it in plain sight. If you had asked to purchase it or paid for it online and the order was canceled AND you could prove that it was willfully withheld then maybe you'd have cause to complain, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

When I worked at Radio Shack many moons ago, many employees would always sift through the sale/clearance inventory list that printed out every week just to see if there were any bargains to be had.

Most managers I worked with didn't have an issue with someone holding onto ONE of the items if they were waiting to get paid...but setting everything the store had aside behind the manager's back was a big no-no. If someone showed up to buy something, you still showed a quantity greater than one or so (small items were always a pain to keep track of) in your computer and it magically went missing or you turned someone away after the sale/clearance list got published, company policy basically considered it to be a theft. There were a few people who got fired over it, usually over bigger ticket items like scanners, cell phones, radar detectors, etc.

meh, I worked at RS while in my first year of college. As an employee you either bought it outright or you put it on a slip on layaway. You and everyone else was covered that way.

I bought a RS TV (made by sharp) that way. $350 TV for something like $120 on clearance way back when.

just bought at $23, not as good of a deal, but for 1/2 inch extensions breaker bar and ratchet, larger sockets than I already have and a case, it seemed to be worth it.

I was browsing online and found Kobalt 33 piece tool set Model# 85187 for $10

Snagged the last one in store here last night. Zip code 62704 for reference.
was $9.00. Had to dig around to find it but if you are looking in your store its the one without the Zerust logo on the box.

My local store showed 1 at $16 but it isn't there. Disassembled all the displays looking for it to make sure. :)

Bummed I missed it.

The replacement is there @ $80. Exact same set, slightly different box.

1/2" probably ain't a popular size for sets=clearancing out. Actually stock seems to vary based on location, I got one store that stocks 3/4" tools and various trade specific stuff, the other doesn't (as I recall). Clearance prices also aren't the same. Must be a store manager type deal.
